On behalf of Vision Volleyball, I am excited to announce that we will be hosting two prestigious beach volleyball tournaments this summer here in North Bay.
As part of Summer in the Park (SITP), we will be partnering with the Ontario Volleyball Association to hold the OVA's Elite Grand Slam Beach competition on August 1-3. There will be 8 men's and 8 women's teams competing for a $10,000 prize pool. There will also be a US men's team travelling to the event that the North Bay Youth Volleyball Club is co-sponsoring with us. The City of North Bay will be constructing a fantastic venue behind the Heritage Museum within the SITP area. By purchasing a SITP wristband, you will have unlimited access to this event - so buy now before the early bird pricing ends!
Thanks to the excitement that we have generated for the upcoming SITP OVA Grand Slam event, we will be co-hosting the NORCECA senior beach volleyball tour with Volleyball Canada! This is the official warm-up tournament for next year's 2015 Pan American games and the only Canadian tour stop. There will be 32 teams from North and Central America and The Caribbean coming to North Bay to compete on July 10-13th.
The NORCECA venue will be constructed on the beach adjacent to the new playground area and the marina. There will be a feature court with two secondary and two warm-up courts at the venue. Stay tuned for updates regarding ticket sales in the coming weeks.
I want to thank The City of North Bay, the Ontario Volleyball Association and Volleyball Canada for entrusting us with these marquee events. Without a doubt, North Bay will have the two biggest beach volleyball events in Canada this summer. I truly hope that you will spread the word and plan on attending both events.
