2017 Senior Beach Nationals
Beach Nationals in North Bay and Ottawa
Beach Nationals, presented by Rider sandals, takes place August 18-20, 2017. "We’re excited to welcome teams from across the country to North Bay and Ottawa," said Sandra de Graaff, Director of Domestic Events for Volleyball Canada. "North Bay has been an excellent partner for several years, and this is the first time Beach Nationals will be held in Ottawa. We’re looking forward to some great competition in both locations." Beach Nationals run from Aug. 18 to 20, with team check-in on Aug. 17. The senior event in North Bay is hosted by Vision Sports and Entertainment, and features five courts at the familiar Canor Sand Centre. Top-level athletes will play for $10,000 in prize money. Canada’s beach volleyball national team head coach, Steve Anderson, will be on site to observe, lead various skills competitions, and offer private feedback sessions with teams. This is a great opportunity for up and coming players to gain valuable input from our High Performance coaching staff and to fight for the title of National Champions! Max Volley is the host at Shefford Park in Ottawa for the 14U, 16U and 18U events. Action will take place on 31 courts with teams from seven provinces confirmed to be participating. Background Beach nationals, held since 1989, are open events hosted in two major categories, Youth and Senior. This tournament focuses on providing a competitive environment for athletes and allows them to compete against other provinces for the title of National Champions. The senior events are open to competitive and elite players from across the country and will feature current members from the National Team. Follow us on Twitter @VCNationals #BeachNats |
